Sorry for so long between posts. Been busy catching up with life, and honestly maybe a little burned out! We're back at it now, though, in Durango, CO, getting ready for our first road race in 2 years tomorrow. We're both doing the Iron Horse RR from Durango to Silverton. It is 47 miles, with 6700' of climbing over 2 major passes. We've done the race twice in the past, and it's always a good time as both towns come out in force to celebrate cycling. Kristal starts 9 minutes in front of me, so I'm going to be digging hard, trying to catch her on the road. It will be close. Also, exciting news, RapidRacing is proud to announce our first non-Boni member as Rob Gilbert joins us for the 2012 season! Rob is a good friend with whom we raced on both the Twin Peaks and Blue Sky teams. He is a strong climber and cross racer, and is always willing to jump in any other type of race as well--he's been seen at the front of crits, TT's, triathlons, and even RUNS! Most of all, though, Rob is a great guy and perfectly embodies the type of rider we want on the team--focused and determined in the race, but friendly and open, always willing to help the rest of the time.
We'll post a race report form Iron Horse soon, and will also get a bio up about Rob!
